Natureplay is Nestled in Nature
Natureplay Preschool creates child centered learning experiences in a diverse natural setting. At present we serve children ages 18 months to 12 years. When our new healthy, environment friendly building is complete we will serve younger children. The campus offers an abundance of opportunities for children to interact with and learn about the natural world. The 2.2-acre, partly forested, site features a stream with salamanders, nature paths, vegetable gardens, fruit & nut trees.

Natureplay aspires to model ecological sustainability for the children and the broader community. For us this begins with knowing, preserving and expanding the variety of native plants and animals that live on and visit our urban campus. It also means we seek to learn and work in harmony with nature’s existing pattern for the campus.
The new building, soon to be under construction, is dedicated to meeting the needs of children while being healthful, comfortable, and environmentally friendly. Its design features a superb ventilating system to keep the indoor air fresh, ultra-low energy super-insulated exterior walls that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 85%, nearly PVC free construction, high efficiency appliances and solar heated domestic hot water. In addition to ecological sustainability a key design goal for our new building is "Bring the outdoors in".
Natureplay buys green power from NC GreenPower as part of our committment to ecological sustainability. Find out more at www.ncgreenpower.org
