The guiding force behind Natureplay Preschool is Amica Venturi. Amica is a creative educator of young children with 20 years of service to families.

Amica has dedicated herself to providing top quality education for children in a healthful and safe facility that is ecologically sustainable and intertwined with the natural world.

Amica was a teacher & supervisor at a Head Start program for 6 years. She used the high scope teaching method that is similar to The Creative Curriculum.

Amica loves to sing both with the children and to larger audiences. She was formerly a member of the Universal Gospel Choir. Amica is a gifted sewer. In order to protect the children and the Earth from the toxins in Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic she sewed the covers for the sleeping mats used at Natureplay.

Amica is active in professional associations of educators and presently serves as the President of the South West Mountains Affliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
